Reconciling MullaSadra's views regarding his interpretation of the hadiths about the creation of the souls with the verses and traditions along with his theoretical explanation is the central thesis of this article. Traditions concerning the issue of creation of the soul falls under two categories: apparently some hadiths are consistent with the theory of corporeal creation of the soul and some of them are not. There are three ways to dealing with the inconsistent hadiths. One group of scholars tied to ignore the hadiths due to the lack of any supporting rational arguments. Another group devotionally accepted the hadiths and hold that the souls had been created before the corporeal body. The third group tried to reconcile between hadiths and the reason. MullaSadra disagrees with the second group. He also does not agree with the first group, however, because of his devotion to the traditions, he believes that the tenet of belief is not acquired only through conjectures derived from hadiths. He considers his rational arguments as labial evidence that can justify the true meaning of the hadiths.
