At the dawn of modern philosophy, Descartes, along with raising the issue of the Cogito (I think, therefore I am), suspends the world, at least temporarily, but Heidegger, by taking a position against the Cartesian thinking subject, in his analyses, proposes a concept called Dasein and essentially considers its mode of being as being-in-the-world, and thus, tries to dissolve the logic of the Cogito. This article is intended to evaluate Heidegger’s analysis of Descartes’ Cogito and his effort to overturn its inner logic, which paves the way for the beginning of the question of existence; a logic that separates the essence of the thinker or human being as an inner and subjective space from the objective arena of the world. Heidegger wants to fundamentally de-objectify this dual demarcation of inside and outside. In this article, the authors will show that through this perusal, Heidegger can essentially pursue his main idea, namely the question of being.
